Turkey Attire Session

Welcome back! It's good to see you here. Well, I did mention about history, places, food and beverages, transportation, beliefs, entertainment, shopping malls and what not. But I almost forget to tell you guys about the attire in Turkey! Did you guys want to know on what Turkish women and men wear? Let's begin with their traditional costume.

TRADITIONAL COSTUME

The traditional attire for Turkish men and women

Traditional costumes are peculiar to or a characteristic of a certain nation or ethnic group, which usually consist of strong elements of the culture from which it originates. It's hard to find people that wear their traditional costume nowadays, yet you can find it in a certain events or celebrations which particularly require the guest to be connected with cultural traditions and they need to wear traditional attire as the theme ask them to do so. Besides that, in some countries even have their traditional costumes as the uniform of the national airline stewardesses. It is done because of they wanted to promote their culture to the foreign passengers. 

In the past days of the ancient Turks, men usually left the village to do their military service. Some research show that they are facing some problems when it comes to define Turkish's men clothing. While in the rural area, Turkish women rarely socialize with the outside world. These women are always to their house chores and living their lives based on the traditions of the community of which they are a part. Plus, children's wear is different according to their gender. On the other hand, each generation follows the clothing styles and customs of earlier generations, which is how traditional clothing and styles have come down in these days. Plus, in rural area of Turkey as well, the women spend most of their time working. Hence, this has cause them to have different types of clothes according to their daily, work, and special day clothes. Moreover, special costumes and hair dressings are only can be seen at wedding ceremonies. For your information, women's hairstyles differ in accordance with their social status, in addition to identify whether they are married or engaged. Hair style is an important feature of Turkish's women's lives.

WHAT TURKISH SHOULDN'T WEAR

What Turkish shouldn't wear is considered as an inappropriate dress. Not only the Turkish, but the tourist that visit the country need to respect their culture as well. It is not that you need to cover everything, but at least you get your arms and legs covered. In fact, it is more appropriate if you can wear long skirt or long pants as well as long sleeve shirt. This is somehow make the Turkish see the foreigner at least have the courtesy and respect their beliefs. I am advising you guys to respect the other culture than us not only in Turkey, but also when you visit any other country as well. Basically, when you cover yourself, you will get respect by others. In addition, try to not wearing a revealing clothes in the public.
